Huzzah Yuletide!
Dec. 25th, 2010 06:20 pmI got two fics this year - one my assigned one, I'm guessing, and one a treat, since when I uploaded mine I had one "mystery work" in the gift section. They're both from what I figured would be the rarest of the four fandoms I requested: Moon. And they're both from GERTY's point of view.
Have I mentioned that I love AI storiesand I kind of ship GERTY and S.A.R.A.H. (sorry, Andy)?
---
The first one is sort of experimentally written, very stream of consciousness, but it's easy to follow and tracks the character devlopment nicely. I appreciate the introduction to Sam-0 and the clues to how the cloning started, and the use of the emoticons. Also, my author clearly noticed that I'm a math geek - note the "spiral" motif and the section numbers. XD
spiral out, keep going (1605 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Moon (2009)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Characters: Sam Bell, GERTY
Summary:
---
The second one is more straighforward and fleshes out some of the backstory a little more; it's a different take, but not too different. It has a bit of pet motif for GERTY, which fits quite well, I thought. Both stories spend a lot of time with the model; this one incorporates it into the development of the Sams.
Fifteen Years of Experience (1900 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Moon (2009)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: Major Character Death
Characters: Sam Bell, GERTY
Summary:
---
In short: squee! There's so very little fic for this fandom - I'm thrilled to see two excellent additions to the collection!

Cute piece from the current round of

No Rest For The Weary by
moon_blitz - Last Starfighter, genfic. A short character study as the Last Starfighter becomes the first of the new Starfghter legion. I'm hella thrilled that anyone is writing for this fandom, and that this feels nicely in-character makes it that much sweeter.
