1: Pick five fandoms. List them in alphabetical order.
2: Visit this site for a random poem. Write down the 5th line (yes, even if it's an E.E. Cummings poem and you wind up with an apostrophe). Repeat five times and -- you guessed it -- list the lines in alphabetical order! (No cheating, mind! This is a challenge and it's always been about creativity.)
3: Write a very quick 50-word half-drabble for each fandom (try to do it all in one sitting -- make your brain explode!), using the line from the poem as a prompt. You don't have to include it in the half-drabble -- it's just inspiration.
4: Bravo! Have a cookie.

I said, back when I started moving all my fics to my other journal, that occasionally I would post a list of what I'd done over there over here. I've done enough stuff - some of it not even smut - that now seems as good a time as any.

Before we begin here, let me say two things. First of all, River is an NPC. No matter how good a roleplayer, I would never give a character like this to a player; she's just too damned powerful. She is the campaign balance. Besides, her disad load is too much for any player to handle; I almost feel like that about Simon's, and most of his don't have to be roleplayed. Secondly, this was darned hard to do. I even had to make up a new psi skill; fortunately, it already existed as part of an enhancement to a completely different power.

Okay, I know way-back-when I said I'd do these two as a two-fer. I'll try and do them both in the same calendar day, which is going to have to count - I realized I may have to delve into the Powers book to properly do River.

But here's ( her brother to tide you over. )

This one's going to be somewhat difficult, as we are pretty much explicitly told that Shepherd Book has training we don't know about and don't get to find out about. Consequently, I'm incorporating some of the skills we know he has from Serenity (well, at least one) to compensate.
