Sorting my iTunes library by most played gives me the following list:

14 - "Ebay," Weird Al Yankovic
13 - "Horseshoes," Moxy Fruvous
13 - "Glass Vase Cello Case," Tattle Tale
13 - "Playground," XTC
12 - "Save It For Later," Harvey Danger
12 - "Closing Time," Semisonic
11 - "Blue Russian," Scruffy the Cat
11 - "Sora," Yoko Kanno (from the Escaflowne soundtrack)
10 - "Lovers In a Dangerous Time," Bruce Cockburn
10 - "Closer To Fine," Indigo Girls
10 - "As I Lay Me Down," Sophie B. Hawkins
10 - "Heart And Soul," T'Pau
10 - "Meet Your New Landlord," Webb Wilder

I have a ton and a half of 9's, so I think I'll use UIL rules and stop there.

A few random comments:

Wow, Weird Al at #1. Not what I expected.

While I'm embarrassed by the lack of gender parity on the list, I have to admit it's not as bad as I feared it might be. Partially that's because of T'Pau's high ranking, which is largely an artifact of its being the next song after "As I Lay Me Down" in my standard library.

The BNL version of "Lovers In a Dangerous Time" is one of my 7's. I don't have the English Beat version of "Save It For Later" in my iTunes list at all.

The Fruvous is a live version. I don't have the studio version. I need more Fruvous.

I'm a little surprised none of the a cappella scored higher. I'm a little surprised any of the anime soundtrack stuff scored this high.

I don't have any of those, but I'd love to hear them.

I'm thinking a mix CD swap of these things is in order.

Ok, I've culled my list to under 80 minutes for an audio CD. Would (either of you) like discs mailed to you? (Respective addresses, on Newark Ave or W. Clay, or anyone else interested...)

Sounds cool to me. I buffed mine up to 72 minutes by adding some random 9's.

I need addresses, though - I don't have either of y'all's, I don't think.

[livejournal.com profile] memeslayer, you want in on this?

I have three CDs in my car that still aren't a complete list of favorites, but I'd certainly be happy to pick a few songs and send them along. Given your stance on copyright, though, I'm not sure you'd want them...

For reasons that have more to do with sentiment than reason, mix tapes/CDs get a bye from me on the copyright issue as long as they're normal-length sound CDs, not MP3s. If I like a song enough to listen to it more than a couple of times, I'll buy it and that makes it all okay. (iTunes has made this frighteningly easy . . .)

A live versions of "Lovers in a Dangerous Time" comes in at #54 with 18 plays in my book. The studio version comes in at #559 with 6 plays from the best of album (and the original release, 1 play); and the BNL cover has 4 plays at around #840.

I thougt I'd have "Closing Time" somewhere on my list, but I'm not seeing it in my library. So really, "Lovers" is the only intersect I have with your list...
