I wouldn't worry about getting picked, if you show a modicum of intelligence and have a clue they won't pick you. The last thing the prosecutor wants on a jury is someone who can think for themselves.
If it's a criminal case, sure. If it's a civil trial? I tried that last time and got picked anyway. Apparently they love public school teachers and being a superfreak does not override that.
Confirmed on that. I served on a case a few years ago; afterwards, I was talking to the lawyer (turns out he's one of the most well-known legal eagles in that town). He said they love to have public school teachers. Responsible, considerate, thinking, logical and practical all in one. :P
