Wow, I just realized -

I ship Marcie/Peppermint Patty.

I've shipped it, literally, since I learned to read. I shipped it before I knew what shipping was, or femslash, or even lesbianism. In fact, I shipped it at a time when my upbringing shouldn't have even allowed me to form the thought.

My issue with Ernie/Bert is not so much that it's horrible and wrong, as that it feels too much like RPS.

The whole "EVERY relationship has to be sexual" thing is the one aspect of fanfic that I genuinely, deeply despise. Bad enough that I spent my teen years fighting with my parents about my guy friends because they thought that men and women couldn't be "just friends" -- now that twisted paradigm has to extend to same-gender relationships as well? NOT. Talk about moving in the wrong direction!
