Wow, I just realized -

I ship Marcie/Peppermint Patty.

I've shipped it, literally, since I learned to read. I shipped it before I knew what shipping was, or femslash, or even lesbianism. In fact, I shipped it at a time when my upbringing shouldn't have even allowed me to form the thought.

The whole "EVERY relationship has to be sexual" thing is the one aspect of fanfic that I genuinely, deeply despise. Bad enough that I spent my teen years fighting with my parents about my guy friends because they thought that men and women couldn't be "just friends" -- now that twisted paradigm has to extend to same-gender relationships as well? NOT. Talk about moving in the wrong direction!

I see Bert and Ernie as muppet equivalents of Jeff & Akbar, though they don't secretly loathe each other quite as much.

As for Charlie Brown, I'll bet he grew up and became Ziggy.
