Yuletide Reveal!

So here are my four:
For Yuletide proper, my assignment was for Eureka, Jack/Zane slash. And I said "I can do zat!," even though it's not a pairing I really would have thought about before. The result was He's A Runaway, which ended up (a) more as pre-slash than as slash, (b) a bit short of novelette length, and (c) with a slightly goofy subplot involving Deputy Andy. And Fargo wanders through the beginning and end of the fic in his role as Director of GD.
I wrote two treats, both in fandoms I'd never tried before. The more successful of the two is a short Boat That Rocked (Pirate Radio) backstory fic for On-The-Hour John, News And Weather, Or Not. I enjoyed writing in this universe, and I love that character, but I probably need to rewatch the canon before trying it again.
The other one turned out awfully cracky. Issues With The Sound is a Misfits of Science x Still Crazy crossover, with an RGB reference thrown in at the end for good measure. The basic question is: what would happen if an RGB-style banshee showed up at the opening show of Johnny B's comeback tour? And the association of lightning with an outdoor concert meant that Strange Fruit just sort of had to show up, and . . . yeah. I was sleep-deprived when I wrote this, but I can't claim I didn't know what I was doing, so I'll just shut up now.
And I realized around the time the Yuletide archive opened that no one had written any GB/RGB, which clearly had to be fixed, so I searched around for a prompt and found a cute Egon one. I whipped up Purely For Science more or less on the spur of the moment - it's a brief encounter between Egon and Slimer, in the movieverse post-GB2.
I'll add them to my personal fic journal later today, when I get the time. For the moment, I need to get started on the Hoppin' John, or we'll be eating after 8:30.

Date: 2011-01-02 10:40 am (UTC)We tried to rewatch the MoS canon two or three years ago, but we could only find about half of the episodes, and most of the ones we did find had been ripped from someone's old third-generation videotapes - they were barely watchable. *sigh* That needs to come out on DVD, like, yesterday.
