This, of course, surprises no one . . .

Your result for Are You a True Texas Republican? The Quiz...

Rotten Commie Pinko Socialist

You scored -30 Republican-ness!

The Texas Republican Party probably thinks you're Barack Obama, the way you answered this quiz. You are quite definitely NOT what the Republican Party considers itself as representing... and you probably already knew that. Even so, I hope that what you saw in this poll opened your eyes about what the Republicans really stand for... and that you take action based on this knowledge.

Yep, I got pretty much the same, but -18 on the "Republican-ness".Probably because I opted for moderate answers on a couple of questions.

oh hai :)

Even better is to see the histogram.... a HUGE spike on the far left, and a small hillock agreeing with the actual Republican platform. No one else on OKCupid will admit to any other position.

The GOP, *especially* in Texas, has been taken over by the nutfringe. Barry Goldwater is spinning in his grave ("enough to power Arizona", in the words of David Brin) and Ronald Reagan would be booted out as a RINO in the current environment. I don't know if they're going to implode and be replaced by a different party -- made up of all the sane people that have left in disgust -- or simply stay in the woods for 30 years until all the nuts die off. Either way, the current GOP is not a sustainable enterprise, no matter how much money the plutocrats pour into demogougery.

I wish it were true.

Unfortunately, with the possible exception of Florida, the GOP in its current form will have quite firm control of all the old Confederacy except North Carolina and maybe Florida, plus Kentucky, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Arizona, for the next twenty years at least. That alone will give them enough of a base to remain unchanged, insisting they're right and anyone who disagrees with them is wrong.

Oh, and the huge spike would be because I only wrote the poll yesterday, and most of those few who have taken the poll thus far are VERY liberal.

Thanks for the plug for the quiz!

(BTW, the most liberal possible score is -34...)

I figured. I'm guessing my conflicted feelings on the Second Amendment are where most of the four positives came from . . .

-24 here. (My Libra nature refuses to let me agree wholeheartedly with some of the more extreme statements *as written for the quiz*. But I feel guilty about that....)
