One of the presidential debates during the 1980 presidential election. I don't remember which one it was, but I came out of it with the impression that Carter was more sincere than Reagan. Wisdom of a child and all that. (Not that there was a particularly good choice in that election. I vaguely remember kind of liking Anderson, too.)

I feel like mine must have been something related to the Gulf War? All I really remember is being terrified by the idea that somehow gripped me that people could come bomb where I live unexpectedly/at any time.

Heh. You don't remember the '80s, then - we felt like that all the time. :-/

I was born in 84 so things like that really weren't something I was conscious of in the 80s. I was more on the watching My Little Ponies level.

At least in HS with the margin of targeting area error we were at ground zero. Before I'd thought they'd take out the nearest big city and we'd get the lingering fallout.
