"Do what you can."

I do. I cannot do otherwise. Gods help me. So Mote It Be.

(boy, no-one's gonna get that)

In other news:

This story completely freaks me out.

Totally aside from the question of Yeats's sanity or not, I do have to ask: is there are really good reason to assume that this woman is crazy, other than medication affecting the olfactory apparitions? I mean, Yahveh has a history of this sort of thing, and the people who follow his orders are considered saints and heroes of the faith. (Okay, that last one isn't a direct order.)

It seems to me that she's perfectly justified in thinking this is the sort of thing that might be required of her. :/ And if it had been any other religion, there'd be legislators calling to ban it and demagoguery for weeks.

And to make matters worse, my own union is on the wrong side of the Pledge of Allegiance case. Ah, well. I suppose if they'd come down on the right side, we'd have gotten called terrorists again. :(

I've noticed a trend. People like to give their god credit for things they do themselves, but will cheerfully take credit for things other people do. You were nice, and gave a homeless kid a place to stay for the night. All God's doing. Killed your kids? God ordered it. Underling wrote a nice report at work? MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE! Police caught you for killing your kids? No way did God have anything to do with that!

I am annoyed but not surprised at the NEA. Taking an unpopular stance on religion is a great way to get Congress pissed at you.
