Speaking of songfic, which I'm generally not into (although if it's subtle and actually relevant, hey cool), anything off the Fleet Foxes' full-length album strikes me as terribly slashy. It's not a macho world, but it's very male. Whenever a person's sex is specified, or a name is used, it's a dude. Even in, like, kinda romantic contexts.

I'm sure it's really more like, ya know, romantic friendship or something, but grrl, you start throwing all that romantic boy-friendship and yearning and poetry together and that's a slasher's paradise, I tell you whut.

Yeah, that was random, so sue me. :-P
