Random Fic Stuff
Sep. 1st, 2009 09:21 pm. . . That I'm posting in the open instead of under the ficcers-lock just for giggles.
It's going to be really hard not to write these all as Eureka fics. "Ephemera" as a theme is already pretty Eureka-esque. (That, and I can write non-novelette-or-longer fics in Eureka. GB/RGB, not so much, unless they're really silly bits of fluff.) Then again, "ephemera" also works pretty well for the Whoniverse. It would be amusing to try to broaden my horizons and do each of the seven in a different fandom, but I don't know if I could come up with worthwhile ideas in seven different fandoms. (Hmm. GB/RGB, Eureka, Whoniverse, Firefly/Serenity, Max Headroom, CardCaptor Sakura, The Incredibles? Not in that order, of course.)

In other news,
rounds_of_kink has opened prompts for Round 13. Someone throw some prompts at it in fandoms I can write, please?

Date: 2009-09-06 03:42 pm (UTC)"Of course, we have the main fandoms - SPN, SGA, SG-1, Buffy, Firefly, etc." That doesn't sound to me like they mean these are the main ones for the comm at all; rather, it seems pretty clear that they are stating these are "the main fandoms" period. Like, "of course we have these fandoms, because they're the main ones and every exchange would have them." And yes, I find that unwelcoming. Maybe it's just poor wording, but in that case, it's very poor wording. (Nor would it surprise me at all if that's exactly what they thought; that attitude seems far more common that I would have expected.)

Date: 2009-09-02 03:07 am (UTC)I'm dreaming of Eureka kinkiness. And maybe some 'Being Human' too. Heck, kinky fanfic for everyone!
I wonder if Rounds of Kink takes prompt submissions from non-writers?

Date: 2009-09-02 03:30 am (UTC)RoK doesn't require a commitment to write in order to prompt - in fact, I think of the six fic I wrote for the last round, only two were from someone who also wrote something for that round. One of the more prolific prompters is actually a slash community, which by definition doesn't write at all, although presumably its members do.
