What 5 fandoms would you like to get into, but just can't?
5) Supernatural. It sounds like the first two seasons would be pretty much right up my alley. Unfortunately, I know that universe turns out to be very, very Christian, and that would annoy the crap out of me. Also, there appear to be a lot of very vocal tinhats in the fandom.
4) Fullmetal Alchemist. Does not have the above problem. I've seen the first few episodes, and I enjoyed them a lot, but I haven't felt enough of a pull to watch the rest of it, and I'm not sure why.
3) Reservoir Chronicle Tsubasa. Same as #4, although I've seen more of it. There's also the minor issue of my having gotten spoiled on a few plot points and going WTF? They probably make more sense in context, but still.
2) Marvel Comics, in general. I used to know every character backwards and forwards. I haven't followed a single title in years. I blame sucky writing, but I still feel bad about it.
1) Babylon 5. We own it. I love JMS like a lot of fen love Joss Whedon. Bruce Boxleitner holds a small but important place in my discovery of my sexuality, from his TRON and Scarecrow and Mrs. King days. It has Billy Mumy in it. It has Walter Koenig in it. There are strong female characters. I have no damn excuse. Someone please tie me to a chair and make me watch it.

iTunes has sent me to Allison Crowe's cover of "Hallelujah." Remind me not to write songfic for this song. Shows off her voice, though.
I have eight stories on deadlines, and I've spent two and a half hours getting something terribly angsty and self-indulgent into TextEdit that has nothing to do with any of them. Then again, I can sort of think of this as warm-up for the one of the eight of them I've not laid Word One down on. (And I still need to re-watch Banzai for one of the remaining ones.)

(Season 1 has its slow moments and false starts; bear with it, and you start getting your reward when groundwork laid in Season 1 starts bearing fruit in Season 2.)
Do you have the pilot movie "The Gathering"? It contains some important backstory/mystery stuff which gets reviewed via flashbacks and suchlike during Season 1 eps, but I think it makes more sense in its original context.
