Everything is loading s-l-o-o-o-o-w-l-y and some of the tags in one of my fic comms aren't working. :-(

Loading is a little slower than usual, but I've seen worse. I can't say about the tags; I haven't noticed it, but I may have not been looking in the right places.

For the last month or two we've had l-stat.livejournal.com and l-userpic.livejournal.com hang unless we repopulate the DNS by doing a dig on both of those addresses in a terminal window. The behavior you're describing sounds a lot like what happens when we don't do that -- there is apparently just a whole lot of DNS CNAME wonkiness that is perfectly fine for a lot of people but just horrific for others, and I don't actually know why, I just know the workaround my husband tells me to use.
