Well, otherkin (http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=otherkin), psivamps (http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=psivamps), and therianthropes (http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=therianthropes) are probably explained by the paradox (http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=paradox) of logic (http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=logic) and fantasy (http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=fantasy), amounting in a spirituality (http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=spirituality) that supports polytheism (http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=polytheism).

But that's just a hunch.

Just for completeness's sake: I assume you already know what those are, or if you didn't and were interested you'd Google for them. So they'd be in the "why on earth would you be interested in that?" category, ne? The reasons are that I technically belong in the first category, although I have little else in common with the otherkin "community" (which is mostly run by Tolkien fanatics and furries); I keep running into people in the second category and having to clean up after them (and have been told by a couple of them that I am one, too, I just don't notice because my period between "feedings" is so long); and the third more or less goes with the first. Perhaps I should list "shapeshifters" as an interest, too . . .
