That Quiz Again
Mar. 12th, 2004 08:45 pmLet's see how I do this time:
1. Neo-Pagan (100%)
No surprises there.
2. Unitarian Universalism (92%)
Not surprising either.
3. Mahayana Buddhism (80%)
This one always throws me . . . I think of my beliefs as being pretty firmly opposed to Buddhism's.
4. New Age (79%)
Pronounced to rhyme with "sewage." We have a little bit in common, but not too much.
5. Liberal Quakers (72%)
Another surprise, although it would have been less of one back in my total nonviolence phase.
6. Jainism (71%)
Do what? Okay, some good ideas, but any religion that wants its avatars to be celibate . . .
7. Theravada Buddhism (69%)
See #3.
8. Secular Humanism (68%)
Is this a real "faith"? I always thought it was the umbrella term for everything the fundies hated. At any rate, I'm a religious humanist, not a secular one.
9. Reform Judaism (66%)
Okay, I'll buy 2/3 compatible with Reform.
10. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (62%)
I don't know whether I buy this or not. I could probably believe I have about three-fifths in common with the most liberal Episcopalians and ELCA Lutherans I ever met.
11. Sikhism (59%)
Okay, now we're getting silly.
12. Hinduism (54%)
I would have thought this would have rated higher.
13. Bahá'í Faith (53%)
14. New Thought (53%)
Don't know enough about these to comment.
15. Taoism (49%)
Again, one I would have thought would score higher.
16. Nontheist (48%)
Feh. The only thing that separates a monotheist from an atheist is a single god. ;)
17. Scientology (47%)
I'm embarrassed that this is even this high on the list . . .
18. Orthodox Judaism (46%)
19. Orthodox Quaker (41%)
20. Islam (35%)
Nothing surprising about these, unless it's Orthodox Judaism scoring this high.
21. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (29%)
Not surprised this is low, but a little shocked that it's below both Scientology and Islam . . .
22. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (22%)
Again, a little suprised this is actually below Islam.
23. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (20%)
24. Eastern Orthodox (18%)
25. Roman Catholic (18%)
And I'm baffled that these are below mainline Protestantism; I know I have more in common with Father R. and Father H. than with any of the WELS pastors I've had.
26. Seventh Day Adventist (14%)
27. Jehovah's Witness (5%)
Yeah, no surprises there. I wonder what I have in common at all with the JWs?
Try it yourself!
Re: Sags are allowed to be into religion.....
Date: 2004-03-15 11:01 pm (UTC)Other than that - not too far off, actually. Although I don't think the quiz is actually designed to find that particular set of threads. In particular, you nailed what I have in common with Secular Humanism.
You on Spring Break this week? I still need to swap readings with you - and if you can read a quiz result that well, I do want to see what you do with a deck of Tarot cards.

Date: 2004-03-16 11:33 am (UTC)I'm off this week, but I'll be out of town until Sunday night. We can swap readings then. (I'll see if I can get your ph# from DM and call you tonight though)
