Yet Another Music Lemming!
Apr. 24th, 2009 09:09 pmThe Rules, this time around:
1) Pick a baker's dozen songs from your current playlist. They don't have to be the most played, although if you have a player that lets you rank songs, they should all be 3 stars or more. Preferably, they should be songs that have some sort of personal meaning for you.
2) Post a couple of lines from the lyrics. Meaningful or obscure, your call. (It's more fun if it's a little of both.) Try to avoid giving the title of the song, of course.
3) Instead of naming the songs/artists, those who recognize the song should respond with the next couple of lines. Using Google is cheating!
4) Screen replies for 24 hours. Strike and identify the song when it's been correctly followed-up.
1) You never know; if I lean on this wall here, my hand could pass through.
So, this cloud of unknowing could disappear too.
2) I search for the time on a watch with no hands.
I want to see you clearly; come closer than this -
3) He saw that infinite complexity could be described by simple rules,
Used his giant brain to turn the game around.
4) I, I'm a new day rising,
I'm a brand new sky to hang the stars upon tonight.
5) Are they gonna find us lying face-down in the sand?
So what the hell, now, we've already been forever damned!
6)He's gonna dive down in the deep end,
He's gonna be just like your best friend.
7) I've seen the ghost that never dies
Stoking the fire behind your eyes;
I read the words between the lies -
8) Who was at the DuPont Pavillion?
Why was the bench still warm? Who had been there?
9) Sum my sail and moon my rudder, as I ply these starry seas;
Leaning over the edge in wonder, casting questions into the deep -
10) If I had some more time to spend,
Then I guess I'd be with you, my friend.
11) You take alook for me, I'll take a look for you;
We'll find out it's not so bad, it's just new.
12) Oh, darling, I believe in love;
In this hate-ridden world, I believe in love.
13) Two dozen other stupid reasons why we should suffer for this;
Don't bother trying to explain them . . .

3 : And he looked beyond the storm, with a pencil in his hand...
6 : Um, "ribbit"? (Honestly, I'm so lost in the moist groove and bass and sound of his voice on that one that I couldn't tell you the lyrics these days...)
10 : And the time when the storm tangled up the wires in the horn at the bus depot...
11 : Let's stir things up a bit, throw the pieces up into the sky (and thank you for reminding me to rip their albums - I've only got a couple of their tracks in iTunes right now...)
13 : Just hold my hand while I come to a decision on this.
