Went to the pre-UIL invitational today. We didn't win much except debate, but we did better than I'd thought we might - and the kids have an idea of what they want to practice now. (Might even be able to convince them to do it.)

Also - finally, at the urgings of several of my students, bought The DaVinci Code last night and read it today. Remarkably fast read - one of my students had a 250 page head start on me and I still finished before he did. Overall, I liked it, although of course I knew the story already. (Appreaciated the cameo from the Gnomes of Zurich.) More in-depth review later.

This getting to school at 5:30 am thing is a killer, though. Glad most of our tourneys only require that we get there at 7.

Sleep now; more later.

Really? Odd. And did we really need that in novel form? I mean, Holy Blood, Holy Grail was interesting, but I am not entirely sure how you make a novel out of it (I suppose Foucault's Pendulum has some resemblance to that description, too, although not exactly).
