Got extra water. Got extra ice.

Spouse has his batteries charged.

I'm going to make a big jar of sun tea so we don't have to open the fridge. Got lots of canned food and breakfast bars, ditto.

The stove is gas, and we have a camp stove and a grill if that becomes unsafe.

We're pretty much ready, I think. Barring Edouard pulling an Allison and camping out over us for days, I think we'll be fine. I'll try and update frequently tomorrow (well, later today, at this point).

The first bands are starting to show up on the Weather Underground radar. Doesn't look too bad so far, knock wood.

Well, now, it does look like we are about to get some rain. And wind. But no Hurricane. And (hope, pray, kvetch) no Allison. :)

On the other hand, a friend of mine is scheduled to go into work today. Methinks I'm going to try to talk her out of it, or at least to go home during lunch ("oops, sorry, rain too heavy, can't get back"). :P

Weather-folk are being all passive aggressive this morning. It's not the big "OMFG a storm!" of Rita, and they're saying, yeah, it's hit land. Yeah. there's going to be a lot of rain. Yeah, high winds are still possible, as is flooding, oh, and yeah, there are probably going to be power outages. But no big deal...

Think I'm going in to work anyway, even though it's optional as far as my boss is concerned. Could use the money, and I don't plan on doing anything stupid that would cause more $ damage to my car than I'll earn by being there...
