I hate this mouse. The scroll wheel is teh suck, and its habit of skipping randomly has ceased to be amusing and is now actively interfering with my ability to use the computer.

Grr and arrgh.

I've often found that opening it up and cleaning it helps with that, but YMMV, of course.

It's an optical mouse, and there's no obvious way to open it, or I would have. :-(

Mine's an optical mouse, too, and they hid the screws underneath the little pads on the bottom. Have to peel those off to open it up. But I don't know what kind of mouse you have exactly.
