*crash*
(Edited because I can't capitalize)
With a Sisko for every Picard,
With a LaForge for every Scotty,
And with a Bashir, a Worf, an Uhura, and a Sulu on every ship;
With a Zoe for every Jayne,
And with a Shepherd Book for every Doctor Tam;
With a Martha Jones for every Rose Tyler,
And where the trees are regal;
Where a Euro-Asian is a rock 'n' roll star and saves the world with the help of Rastafarian aliens;
With a Henry Deacon for every Nathan Stark,
With a Jo Lupo for every Douglas Fargo,
And where Doctor Blake can be in charge of the company town, even when it mines ingenuity.

Date: 2008-01-23 01:13 am (UTC)It has long been a trend of sci-fi TV to put together a diverse cast. I lay all credit for this entirely at Rodenberry's feet. Clearly the 60's spoke to him in all the best ways. I only wish sci-fi TV pushed further for the as yet underrepresented.
That, and I wish the people who wrote and produced, directed and bankrolled these shows were as diverse as the actors.
