Okay, so a few people had mentioned this already, but: somebody's old World History teacher is crawling under the table and crying for shame.

At least Whoopi tried to fix it. But, um, yeah. There's a reason some things are dated B.C. (To be fair, Hurt seemed to have problems with that as well . . .)

For what possible reason do people of education listen to or pay attention to this one, particularly ignorant person? Perhaps her faith demands ignorance; that is fine. But why are we making a big deal of it? What's her importance?

I believe that even a devout Fundamentalist who believed evolution was a sham and that the Earth was some 5000-odd years old would find her ignorance astounding.

Are educated people really paying attention to this show, much less this woman? I'm pretty out of the loop when it comes to popular TV, so I may be unpleasantly surprised by the answer.

Actually, while this show does get decent ratings - it is often consumed ironically. Watching famous people say stupid things is a bit of a nation sport on television.
