Another One Rides This Bus
Jan. 10th, 2004 03:31 pmIn other news:
The car is still broken.
I seem to have beaten this cold (echinacea and pseudiphedrine are a great combo), although there's still a bit of phlegm hanging around.
The counselors let He Who Ain't Got No Feet out of my class without my signature. I am highly pissed about this.
I bought some very silly clothes at a couple of the BryLane web-divisions on their post-holiday clearance sales, including a very hippie-chickie rayon shirt that I'm just dying to wear to Ceili . . . which, now that I have actually found it and gone a couple of times, is on hiatus. *sigh*
Several other things that I have ordered, however, have not come in. I am unsure how long I should wait before calling the companies that I ordered them from - I know the post-hoiday period is a techy one for shipping, but still . . .
Our math department is actually going to have a Pre-AP/AP team meeting, although I am deliberately not calling it a meeting, as the next person who says "meeting" at the school is going to get textbooked (like stoning, only with Teacher's Editions instead of rocks).
We lose 4 class days to the state testing (TAKS, formerly TAAS), plus another class day to our district's diagnostic pre-test for it. That's 1/36 of our instructional time, if anyone's keeping track. No Child Sinister Buttock is upsetting me more and more (although, to be fair, in this state we'd have - and have had - the testing system even without NCLB).
And, in a bit of good news, the Spouse is now
bibulb. Everybody go say hi to him!

Date: 2004-01-11 06:16 pm (UTC)That wasn't the hippie-chickie one, though. The next time you know you'll be able to make it to Bagels, let me know and I'll wear it. It truly is silly. Comfy, though!
Still waiting on the other batch to come in. Really, they have my number this year - they brought back bell sleeves and embroidery, and I'm such a sucker for them . . . I only wish they'd made stuff like this when I was in high school; I'm so jealous of my kids (who will probably look on whatever the kids are wearing ten years after them, maybe poodle skirts and acid-washed jeans or some equally goofy combination, with the same mixed feelings).
