omorka | The Icon Is Particularly Accurate Tonight

Well, I have to say, Mr. Yankovic was a lot more into it tonight than he was the last time he came through town. His bassist seemed a bit blase about the idea of performing yet again, but the rest of his band was up (well, Reuben is always up, as far as I can tell). His voice was also better than last time.

Ran into

briareos and his lovely lady on our way in, and

asland32 before the show started. A lot of folks looked familiar, probably from either Apollocon or Owlcon. A lady on our row was wearing a Blue Sun t-shirt; I, of course, cringed and whimpered appropriately. (I got two compliments on my shawl from people not in our group, too.)

Some highlights:

The recorded Donny Osmond stole the show during "White & Nerdy" from the projection screen

"Canadian Idiot" sounds better live than it does recorded

The costume changes during the extended medley were very well executed

I hadn't seen some of the "Al TV" clips that got shown

The audience reaction for "Wanna B Ur Lover" was hysterical

Everyone sang along for "Saga Begins/Yoda"

He started the encore with a chorus of "We All Have Cell Phones," which the Spouse points out he's been waiting ten years for
