Conflicting Media

The school district's website says the schools are closed due to ice on the roads and bridges today.

The school district's phone hotline for inclement weather says the schools are open.

Chron.com agrees with the website, as does the Channel 2 website.

I have not gotten a phone call from the school or district yet, and they're supposed to call us if they cancel school.

So the phone lines are telling me one thing, and the Internet is telling me another. I've been trying to call the school directly to get an answer.

FWIW, there's a thin layer of ice on all the cars here, but not on anything else. There's still some misting going on; the rain seems to be freezing on contact with metal, but that's it. The pollution bubble of Downtown seems to be protecting us from ground ice.

Did you figure it out? We're starting at 10 - I have to be there at 9:30, I think.

I decided to believe the website and went back to bed for a nap. Since no one has called me from the school in a panic, I'm assuming I made the right decision.

We got called by the school's phone tree at 6am. Finn's school was closed, as was the whole district. I feel they made the right call this time.
