And some mundane crud

The ADHD Kid seems to be doing better this week. He was discussing his planned Halloween costume with me; he's designing himself a Pan costume, although not quite by that name. On the other hand, when he's feeling better, he can be a handful in class - I remember the week of "the tree that should not be" and "the Great and Terrible Oz" until I gently slapped him down - and he seems to have gotten on Ms. P's nerves a bit.
We had to do the Stupidest Team-Building Activity Ever today. It involved Cute Animal Gestures. It made no godsdamned sense at all. I'm not going to think about it any farther.
I understand why we are having so many meetings this month, but really now. Any month in which I have more than 3 meetings in any given week - including the short week - is just silly.
October started early this year. Hopefully, that will mean it will end early, too.
It has occurred to me that when this crop of kids graduates (about a third this year, the rest 2 years from now) I'm going to be really devastated. They're the first group of students I've felt really close to as a group, rather than just as a handful of individuals. I hope the group in this year's Pre-AP Alg. II classes is going to be as interesting when I get them next year. Also, as a corollary to this, I may actually have to start going to prom.
I willingly gave up another Saturday. This one's in Katy, and is more classroom-oriented than self-knowledge. What was I thinking again? Oh, right, the same thing I was thinking when I volunteered to run a ritual at Samhain . . .
