Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow has now joined Weiss Cruz on my list of "things for which the gag reel is better than the video." I know the dialog was supposed to suck, that the woodenness was intentional, but, my gods, did it have to be that bad?

I heartily agree. I really wanted to like the film, but the director seems to love the worst parts of the old serials, not the best. George Lucas often has the same problem.
