omorka | Small irritations

1) I apparently owe U of H some trivial amount of money, something on the order of $6.00 that wasn't enough to ever send me a proper bill for, but they won't give me a new copy of my transcript until I show up and give it to them in person. At least, trying to do it over the phone is failing spectacularly. I am not sure if this is because it can't be done, or because I am failing my Operate Phone Messaging System roll. (Fortunately, *ISD gave me back my old copy of my transcripts, so I can just give that copy to #ISD as long as they don't want it still in the university envelope.) So at some point I'm going to have to schedule a bus trip down there. (Ah, well. Maybe I can manage to visit some of my kids who are taking summer school classes there.)

2) Our internet connection has gone bizarrely slow for some unknown reason. It hasn't gone down, exactly . . . but it's too slow to run AIM, and even Eudora is acting all confused. Given that we will be restricted to dial-up for 10-14 days in the very near future, being without connectivity before then is irksome.
