Is LJ dropping comment notifications for anyone else? I've only gotten e-mails for about half of my comments since they moved. I know they were having some issues with AOL and Yahoo bouncing comment notes - that wouldn't affect Earthlink, too, would it? Or is it just me?

--

In other news, all my sarongs from the last campout had been lying in the second laundry hamper (right on top of the dry-cleaning I really ought to try and get done this week) because I didn't want to have to hang them all to dry - I don't have a clothesline, and there's only room on the drying rack in the back hallway for two at a time.

However, one of my resolutions for this week is to get the damned laundry done and out of said back hallway before Thursday. So, in a fit of desperation, I washed them and then threw them in the dryer on low.

They seem to have come out fine. Fringe is a little tangled, but that's often a result of washing them even if they're properly line-dried.

I will be most pissed if it turns out I have been carefully hanging them up to dry for no good reason . . .

I wouldn't know...

It's so rare for me to get comment replies, that I wouldn't know if it's working or not. :)

Of course, all mine go to my hotmail account, so it could be blocked there as well...

My LJ comment notifications have been flaky the past few days as well, and at least one other person on my friends list has complained about having problems with it. No idea what's up with it.

Comment notification "slow or delayed" is a known issue.

Sorry to be the bearer of pissing-off news, but I've always dried my sarongs (except the hand-painted red one).
And they have always been fine - no wrinkles, nice and soft. And yeah, the fringe just gets tangled anyway.
It is nice to know, however, that from now on to forever, you'll not have to hang them up to dry.
If it makes you feel any better, I still have some festival laundry of my own to do (and I keep promising myself it will be done this weekend, and it never is). This next week, maybe, because it is slow...we'll see.

I suppose "it builds character" is not considered a good reason?

I hand washed my sarongs in cold water, then let them drip dry.
I did it for a long time.
Then I discovered that the rayon wasn't nearly so delicate as all that.

Well, at least I wasn't still hand-washing them - I did that the first two or three times to let the excess dye drain out without staining anything else, and after that I'd been washing them on the shortest delicate cycle on the washing machine. (Most non-dry-clean-only things can be machine washed, if you're careful with them. It's the drying that damages fabrics, usually.)

Still, grr on the not knowing they could be machine-dried.

I need to get a red sarong. I have blue, green, purple, orange, and yellow, but no red. Clearly I should fix this.
