For me the end of summer is defined by the first day I wake up in the morning (and I am not an early riser given my preferences) and say, "Brr. Wanna jacket."

(I remember working Otakon the last time it was at Penn State University- I think it was over Labor Day Weekend. I was chilly the entire time I was in Pennsylvania, and that's the farthest north I've ever gone or ever care to go.)
I agree. I define "summer" as "I can go out comfortably wearing just shorts and a T-shirt", which means at least mid-March to mid-October here. It's not the temperatures per se that bug me, it's the length of the summer season overall, plus the fact that spring and autumn are damn near nonexistent.
