1. Total number of books owned?
At least a thousand. Probably closer to three thousand. So many of them are in boxes because we don't have shelf room that I can't really get a better estimate than that.
2. The last book I bought?
Greek Gods, Human Lives by Marky Lefkowitz. I haven't started it yet.
3. The last book I read?
The last book I finished was Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The last book I read out of was Upside-Down Brilliance (although I'm almost done with that one, finally!).
4. 5 books that mean a lot to me?
A Wrinkle In Time (and, by extension, the rest of Madeline L'Engle's Murray/O'Keefe books)
Drawing Down the Moon, for the world it opened for me
Ender's Game, for myself and (now, much more) for my kids
Chaos, because it made the world make sense
The Annotated Alice, because so much of my childhood is interwoven with it
