I think I finally found out what "red musk" is. Seeing it in so many BPAL descriptions confused me. But it appears to be another name for civet musk (as opposed to deer musk). Naturally, most perfumers use a synthetic version now.

The other possible option is that it's the essential oil from the musk rose, but I think they'd probably call that rose musk, wouldn't they?

(Note to self: the essential oil you know as "rock rose" is actially called labdanum.)

Hmmm... I could have sworn I've also seen "civet" listed in some of the BPAL descriptions, which if true would argue to me that "red musk" must be something else.

Oh, boy. When does Hell Con Season start for y'all again? Because Start-of-School-Hell is about to start for me, and I don't know when my free time is likely to fall this week.

I had originally intended to try and blend you an ampule of something that used ingredients you've mentioned working on you before, in trade, but the bank card issues are interfering with getting a container for that, so I may have to give it to you later . . .
