A Darned Pernicious Meme, This
Jun. 10th, 2003 02:04 amSo I've been interviewed by four people, but only two have requested interviews. I suppose I came in on the end of this meme-complex, so if everyone else is worn out on it, I understand, but darn, I was having fun.
So, once more all together:
If you want me to interview you--post a comment that simply says, "Interview me." I'll respond with questions for you to take back to your own journal and answer as a post. Of course, they'll be different for each person since this is an interview and not a general survey. At the bottom of your post, after answering the Interviewer's questions, you ask if anyone wants to be interviewed. So it becomes your turn-- in the comments, you ask them any questions you have for them to take back to their journals and answer. And so it becomes the circle.
Who will play? May I interview you? Would you like to interview me?
(Hoping for at least one more hit before this fades away like spring's grass at Lammas . . .)

Date: 2003-06-10 01:22 am (UTC)Photojournalism will be some definition, some method, some ethics, some law.
Photo 2/Black & White printing, will be a 100 question Scantron. Multiple Choice, True/False and Matching. This one could conceivably kick people's collective asses... knowing the characteristic curves of how different films react to different amounts of light; rules for over and under developing based on exposure; assorted heavy theory that wasn't necessarily covered explictly by the teacher, since he tends to ramble a bit, and tell good stories, and not remember that he might have omitted something in his lecture.
I feel pretty good about it all. Actually, it could be the first time I've gotten more than one A in any semester of college, and including summers, and counting this term, I've had 18 semesters to date.
It would be cool to kick of my return to academia with a 4.0 after failing out of one school, and being put on academic probation at another.

1. You've managed to cover almost all of the arts in one way or another - amateur acting in various student films, instrumental perfomance, musical composition, vocal performance, and now the visual arts in the form of photography. Do your creative impulses come from the same source for all of these, or does each one draw on a different part of you? How does each one feel when you're doing it?
2. As you mentioned above, you've had a somewhat checkered post-secondary academic career. Was there anything about your high school academic career that you feel ill-prepared you for college (and if so, what was it)? Similarly, was/is there something particular about "college" as an institution that particularly ill-fit you?
3. What's the most challenging intellectual task you've ever faced?
4. What's it like to go through your early adulthood knowing that you're attractive?
5. A djinn appears and gives you one wish - with the caveat that it won't occur until five years in the future. What do you ask for?

Date: 2003-06-11 11:24 pm (UTC)1. What does it mean, for you personally, to be a priest/priestess?
2. (continuing #1) What responsibilities and privileges come with the title, and how do you know when you are one?
3. What does it mean to be an Elder, and how is it different from being a priest?
4. What did you think your life would be like when you were 21? Did your expectations resemble the life you're leading now? How were they different?
5. You are or have been an active member of a large number of "alternative" subcultures - Paganism, alternative sexualities, SF, SCA, etc., etc. - which have significant overlap, but are not identical. Is there a common thread that links these for you, or are they just completely different facets of your life?
6. Name three of the biggest discoveries you've made in the course of your life.
