In the "Why did I do that?" file
Apr. 27th, 2005 09:25 pmMy nose has been bleeding lightly all day. Not a clothes-staining spurt or anything like that, just a slow trickle that gave me all the problems inherent in a runny nose plus extra-special "ick" factor. And on top of that, my throat is still sore (and my voice sounds "thick," at least to me).
So I was checking to see if my tonsils were still swollen, and indeed they are. So I got this bright idea to prod at the swollen tonsils with the dull side of a dental pick. I'm not sure why this seemed like a good idea at the time - I may have had some delusion about clearing old mucus off of it, somehow - but it had the eminently predictable result of making the probed lymph node even more sore than its sibling. So now I'm lopsided and it's hard to swallow, too.
"And I hate when things are over / when so much is left undone" . . .
