Haven't had as much time to play with these since school started, but I've finally come to the next color set: Damballah, Gargouille, and Uktena.
Damballah is a rich teal-green with some sparkle to it in the bag. On me dry, it's a soft teal with turquoise and magenta sparkles. On me wet, it's a deeper, greener shade of teal with the same turquoise and magenta sparkles and a light metallic sheen somewhere between pewter and copper. It's fairly flattering to my skin tone, and I like it a lot, but it covers a lot of the same color territory as Ryujin, which is even more flattering; I'll have to wear them both a few times before I decide whether it's worth having a full jar of each. Right now it's in the "maybe-tending-to-yes" pile; I'll definitely use up the sample.
Gargouille is a green-grey with metallic shimmer in the bag. On me dry, the green tone disappears completely; it's a dark metallic about halfway between pewter and bronze, with some light iridescent glitter. On me wet, the green comes back as an olive overtone, and the metallic tone takes on more bronze and copper notes. It's a complex color, almost pewter-grey from some angles and a very shiny metallic-sparkly from others. This is also a "maybe-tending-to-yes" for a reorder; it's in the same general color range as Nidhoggr was, but it looks richer on me. I might play around with highlighting it with some of the brighter shades.
Uktena is a bright olive green in the bag. On me dry, it's a soft, satiny olive with a very light shimmer. On me wet, it breaks into a deep satiny olive-to-hunter green underlayer and a metallic gold overlayer; it stays satiny, with the gold adding more shimmer but no sparkle. I love the color but I'm not sure it looks good on me; right now it's in the "maybe" pile, while I play around with it some more - I might reconsider when I re-henna my hair, for example.
Not a single disappointment in this bunch. There are two more in my original set of samples, and then about five more from the set that I still need to order samples for.
