. . . I just oversteeped an estate tea. By about six minutes. (It's a Golden Tippy Yunnan, if anyone wants to know.)

So I figured "the Hel with it" and added too much half-and-half and a heaping spoonful of demerara sugar while I was at it. I won't be getting the "true" flavor anyway, since I stewed the leaves, right?

It has an interesting toasty aftertaste. Having said that, it is still clearly oversteeped. If I'd known I was going to do that, I would have used one of the mate blends instead (you can't stew mate; it's supposed to remain in the hot brew while you drink it - that's why mate straws have that little screen at the end).

Not the best way to start the day. Especially when it's a religious holiday you don't celebrate. And the reason you woke up this morning was that the power went off (fortunately, it was only off for a couple of minutes).

Hopefully, it will get better. However, I won't be able to do my usual Easter tradition of ham and deviled eggs, since (a) I had a migraine yesterday, and thus didn't boil the eggs, much less dye them, and (b) I had a migraine yesterday, and thus didn't get out to purchase the ham. I can't do lemon-garlic chicken, either, since I haven't gotten to Wally's to buy more lemon juice. (Middle Market only sells it in tiny little bottles.) Hmmm . . . Easter pasta, maybe? :/
