I hate it when this happens, TV edition

So, yeah, this week's Eureka Jossed my crossover idea without resolving the plot issue the crossover was intended to be a fix-it for. :-/ And if they don't address the plot issue before the end of Season 3.5, I'm going to have to find another way to write the fix-it.
I'm also slightly weirded out by Fargo being given a girlfriend (who, it looks like from IMDB, really was a one-shot character, which annoys me no end) in the last episode, and then being toyed with and clearly having a brand new man-crush in this episode. No consistency at all, here. (Not that I'm at all opposed to bi!Fargo; I think he probably is, given his ginormous daddy-crush on Nathan, although it's entirely possible he hasn't consciously realized this in canon. But I don't think he's that sort of relationship butterfly, either.) But at least we get competent!Fargo again, if only in a couple of B-story scenes. (And more evidence for my theory that Fargo believes in the supernatural, even if he knows it's all bunk.)
Why didn't they just walk through walls to get to Section 5? For that matter, why didn't they sink through the floor, or float?
No Zane this week, which made me sad. No Larry or S.A.R.A.H., either. *sigh* I find the new character endearingly annoying; I've had assistant principals like that before.
