Or am I the only one who is deeply disturbed by the fact that a deeply and, as far as I can tell, honestly devout Evangelical President is taking actions which seem to be directly or indirectly but very, very potently causing clashes between the three monotheistic religions - centered on Jerusalem and Babylon?

Reagan thought he was chosen by the Christian God to prevent Armageddon. I'm growing more and more convinced that Dubya thinks he's been chosen to initiate it.

You're not wrong. Bush II is very tight with a group of... I'm not sure what they're called exactly... the kind of people who believe that the Left Behind (spit) books are prophetic, and that the time of the Rapture is NOW -- the sooner, the better. He talks policy with them, and refuses to listen to other advisors who question his decisions. And now he's only got 4 years in which to achieve his Supreme Goal...
