Canon Completed

omorkaFinished the Firehouse Box Set. Well, okay, technically there are two more discs, but they have only the Slimer! shorts, which I'm not all that eager to watch. There are also a few extras I haven't watched, but those can wait until summer, when I have the time to browse through and rewatch things at lesiure. The point here is, I've finished the cartoon!canon. If I want any more "official" content before the game comes out, I'll have to start chasing down the out-of-print comic books. That's probably more trouble than I want to take, although they're sporadically availaible through Amazon.
Season Five is roughly U-shaped - strong start, terrible writing in the middle (especially where the characters from the Slimer! shorts bleed through), reasonably strong finish. Overall, about the same writing quality as Season Three, or slightly better. The animation quality, unfortunately, remains pretty awful; the next-to-last episode is a little better, but for the most part, it's just bad - lines disappear into the paint, everyone's off-model, and there are frequent coloring/animation errors. The voicework stays strong, although we still have the issue of villains sounding like the Brain or Megatron randomly.
Now, to work through the online fandom. One thing that bugs me - it's assumed throughout the fandom, both in the slashier/smuttier end and in the pure-hearted gen!fics, that Peter was on a football scholarship in college. Now, that makes perfect sense, and it's canon that he was an athlete of some sort, but I don't think he ever actually says he played football, and given his build, baseball would make more sense. Anyone want to point me to anything that makes his quarterbackhood canon?
