So, now -

Is anyone else amused by the colors that have been assigned by the media to the two parties? (I also wonder if the existence of the Green Party influenced that, and if that means that the Libertarians are the White Party or if that's the flagging remnants of the Reform Party and the Libertarians are stuck with orange or something.)

It's so ironic that I may one day be prompted to say "I'd rather be dead than red" and mean it . . .

The blue/red split has to be a holdover from years past, though I don't recall seeing it before. I can't believe that this generation of Republicans would have missed the chance to symbolically revive the "liberal Commie pinko" association by assigning red to the Dems, and I've been boggling over that this whole campaign.

I think I recall that back in 1979, the Republicans were green and the Libertarians red. Somebody probably switched green to red for better contrast. I doubt much thought went into it.
