Performed the voluntary Civic Duty today. Even with early voting, the Spouse and I had to wait for just over 45 minutes to get to the balloting machines. I don't want to think about what the lines will look like on Tuesday Week. Decided not to just pull the Democratic lever because there were a couple of contested elections where the two choices were a Republican and a Libertarian, and I wanted to give the L's their shot. On the bright side, PB and L came in about half an hour after us, so we got to chat a bit. Two or three women commented on my crocheting in line (I can't knit standing up).
On a far more frivolous note: I really like this skirt I'm wearing as far as cut, drape, and color go, but it's 100% artificial fiber, and thus in some ways it is not unlike wearing a parachute around one's waist.
