Yet Another Mutation of the Music Memage
Dec. 3rd, 2006 07:20 pm1. Find the 20 most-played songs in your music collection (iTunes, Winamp, etc.)
2. Post the first line of each song. Skip any that don't have lyrics.
3. Screen the responses. See who can guess the songs. (No Googling!)
4. After 48 hours, post the song and artist.
5. Everyone who gets it right gets a point.
This has changed enough since the last time I saw it to perhaps be worth doing again.
1) Don't the hours grow shorter as the days go by?
2a) Two dozen other dirty lovers - must be a sucker for it
2b) Look what you're doing to me - I'm totally at your whim
4) It felt like springtime on this February morning
5) The message is perfectly simple; the meaning is clear
6) Checked your bags with the hotel clerk
7) Hit the message, I can hear you calling
8) I believe the sun should never set upon an argument
9a) Buildings and bridges are made to bend in the wind
9b) Everybody wants to live like they wanna live
9c) I am listening, I'm listening for you
12a) Love's like a road that you're travelling on
12b) Wing tein a lotika enviu ri silota
14) If it weren't for your maturity, none of this would have happened
15a) You've got your ball, you've got your chain
15b) Hear the sound of music drifting in the aisles
17a) Don't the hours grow shorter as the days go by? (Okay, I'll try this again. Consider getting the respective artists correct for this and #1 a bonus point.)
17b) This old life seemed much too long
17c) Yeah . . . A used pink bathrobe, a rare mint snowglobe
19a) On a sheet lies the poem; poet hides his message within the words
19b) Out of touch, out of reach, yeah
19c) Zephyr in the sky, at night I wonder
Okay, yeah, I know that's 21, but I couldn't break the three-way tie for #19. There are a couple of covers on here, and I'll take the original artist as a correct answer for scoring purposes.

follybard: 3
briareos: 3
greeneyedpagan: 1
