Some idiot barged into the apartment above us at about 6:08 and stomped upstairs, shouting "who's there, motherfuckers?" Then he stomped all over the apartment, and it sounded like he was knocking stuff over. I called the cops, who showed up after he'd left (he was driving a dark-colored Chevy pickup, but I couldn't tell whether it was the one that was parked next door for forever). One of their girlfriends was upstairs, and she said it was someone they knew, and everything was okay (I hadn't known she was up there; she told the cop she'd been asleep, which I find hard to believe, considering the racket he was making).

The cop didn't seem to think I'd done the wrong thing by calling him, so no harm done there. Whether they'll be upset or not remains to be seen, but considering they've been broken into once before since we moved in, I doubt they'll be too mad at my being paranoid.

And now they're back and being just generally loud. Idiots. I can't tell you how glad I'll be when and if they move.
