omorka: (Hold Me I'm a Fermata)

I think I like this song better with a female vocalist. (Except for the vocal line, it's a pretty faithful cover.) The emotional effect is something like the Brooke cover of "Time After Time," that it's oddly comforting to hear the sentiments expressed across that border. (The Hooters' version of "Time After Time" doesn't do that for me, oddly enough.)

Had dinner with the Spouse, the MIL, [livejournal.com profile] quantumduck, AK, and FK. I had forgotten how much throwing a vegetarian and a very finicky Feingolder into the mix slows down the process of choosing a place to eat; it's an order of magnitude over the usual, even with my weird tastes and [livejournal.com profile] memeslayer's limited palate thrown in. Oddly enough, FK is not the problem, although it does take a few non-child-friendly places out of the list. Anyway, dinner was decent, but it was late when we sat down and then the kitchen was running slow - we didn't get to eat until almost 8:30. We should probably stick to known quantities.

It turns out almost no one I know will be at the Swan tomorrow, so barring AK really wanting to go, I think I'll skip it and either try to grade (I'm so behind already!) or get to sleep early.
