That was weird
Jun. 3rd, 2006 01:16 pmSince I made the last few posts about it friends-locked, let me go ahead and reiterate for the few people who read this who are not mutually friended:
1) Two weeks before the end of the semester, I notified Ramton that I would not be returning for the fall semester, because the blatant gross hypocrisy of the three tiers of bosses above me had me throwing up every morning again, which is insanely bad for my health, and the daily commute (in particular, the afternoon part of it) has been affecting the Spouse's stress levels more and more these past three years.(And because I still miss my miracle kids, and the school doesn't feel right without them in it anymore; I might as well go somewhere else.)
2) At about the same time, after having given up on getting moved before July, I called on an ad in the Greensheet more or less on a whim, and the Spouse and I ended up getting a three-bedroom duplex in the same neighborhood we're currently in. Our current landlord wouldn't prorate the rent for June, so we have both places for the whole month, which is expensive, but means we can move at a fairly leisurely pace.
3) A little over a week ago, I interviewed at a school I would really like to work at, and got a "we're interviewing a couple of other candidates, but we'll give you a call one way or the other in about a week to a week and a half." Immediately afterwards, another school that I would also like to work at called and scheduled an interview for yesterday. Not having heard from the first school yet, I went - and after a forty-minute one-on-one interview, the principal hired me on the spot.
4) In writing all of this up in the friends-locked post, I wrote a sentence in a way that implies that I think of International Baccalaureate as plural and Advanced Placement as singular. Which I do, but I have no idea why; it actually makes more sense the other way.
