Old places, old faces
Jul. 31st, 2005 04:51 pmSo Bagels is officially reinstated as of today:
2ish p.m. Sundays
the Jason's Deli on Shepherd at Westheimer
They've remodeled, so there's much more space in the dining area than previously. There was a fairly large Asian Christian Youth group in there, and we were still easily able to pull a couple of tables together and hear each other - without blocking any foot traffic.
I think this will work adequately for a while, at least.
Anyway, the Bergmom showed up. I hadn't seen her in a long time, so that was reasonably pleasant, even though most of the conversation with her was her and
greeneyedkitty talking about baseball, a subject on which I am steadfastly neutral. (There are some sports that I am actively against.)
Also,
cheshirebast's parents showed up near the end of the afternoon. (Not for Bagels, I mean, just to the restaurant.) I hadn't seen them in at least a couple of years, so both PB and I both wandered by their table (at different times) to chat with them. That was a bit . . . surreal. However, we did discuss the Longitudinal Line and its pluses and minuses as a performance space, which was kind of amusing.
