Not exactly a meme . . .

Why this particular one?
Mine probably doesn't need that much explaining. First, it's George. He really is the best musician out of the four. (I like Paul's voice best, but you can't have everything, and they're all singing harmony on this one, anyway.) Second, the lyrics mean something special, and relevant to me - have since I first heard it. (Probably do to anyone who's ever been poly in a mono world.) It's melodically simple without being simplistic, and it has good chord structure. And finally - jangly guitars. Can't beat it.
Most of my runners-up - "All You Need is Love," "She Said, She Said," "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" - are John songs. "Penny Lane" and "Golden Slumbers" are my favorite Paul songs (generally, I like earlier John and later Paul). I think most of the rest of my top ten are all George. Having said that, the best moment in any Beatles song, IMHO, is the final drum fill in "Ticket to Ride," which is pure Ringo.
