Gaming and invitationals
Feb. 18th, 2005 11:57 pmPlayed a little bit of the Star Wars game
wileras is running tonight, although the Spouse crit-failed a stamina roll on us about an hour in, and I blew a dex check and got buried in junk mail at one point. (Our characters generally did better.) My only serious worry about the game so far is that my character has very little reason to want to stay with the other two, other than that they have a ship and she doesn't. For right now, that's good enough, but fairly shortly, it may not be. Eh. We'll have to see what happens, I guess. If we manage not to get ourselves killed doing the incredibly stupid thing we're currently doing, we'll at least have a reason to all be together for another trip.
I'm going to start a new game, since the corporate-future one collapsed on me. Anyone who's reading this, who's in town and interested in playing, give me a ring or a ping:
Setting: Modern-day suspense with supernatural and/or SF elements. All characters should be either students at a public university (We'll call it Mississippi Agricultural & Mechanical University) of about 25,000 in the Deep South, or faculty/staff at said university, or inhabitants of the town of about 12,000 that exists to support the university. Contemporary TL, which is on the borderline between TL7 and TL8.
System: GURPS 3rd edition. I'm starting with what I already know. We may transition the game to 4th ed. as we go, or not.
Point Level: 120 points. No more than 40 points in disads unless you clear it with the GM (me) beforehand. If you wish, you may sink up to 15 points in supernatural/fantastic/non-TL-appropriate advantages. Do not take any skills for these advantages; they will not be usable at the beginning of the game, and I reserve the right to change them to some other supernatural ability, appropriate to the setting but equal in point value, if and when they become usable.
Right now, we're planning on doing a character creation session next Friday, around 7:30ish, at
bibulb's and my place. If you're interested, again, drop me a line.
