In other news:

quantumduck's here! (Along with his lovely spouse and child.) Yay! Although we had a bit of a snafu trying to watch the fireworks last night (I think DG and I were the only ones who got to see most of the show).

Also enjoyed inadvertently going grocery shopping with greeneyedpagan and theoldone yesterday afternoon. (The lamb chops looked yummy!)

It's not that long if you know what you want - if you don't know, it can be tricky. It also depends on how many people actually show up - if it's just me, you, and the Spouse, we can both help you out, and moontyger knows the system already, but if other people show up who don't know the system, we'll get a little more spread out.

If you want to show up 6:30-7ish, and don't mind that we may not be finished cooking/eating dinner, that would be fine.

Yes, although it's not 100% clear whether they're already busy on Sunday. My impression was that quantumduck was going to try and make it, at least.

Cool. David and Rhys will be in town - and will make a driveby on their way back to the airport - when I mentioned to him that they'd be in town, he was happy to hear that.

They were very yummy.
Turned out just right, with roasted potatoes, onions, garlic, and carrots. Fresh cauliflower, salad, and crusty bread plus a nice bottle of wine (Liberty School Syrah) finished the dinner of just great.
mmmmmmm.....
Then we went (finally) to see the new Harry Potter, then I had to go back to work.
At least we had a nice afternoon, and dinner.

Unfortunately, <lj-user = "wileras"> and I just remembered that the Simon & Garfunkel concert is tomorrow night, so I guess we can't make it. :( Is there any other time we could come do this? I'm really sorry about us being scatterbrained here.

Hmm . . . the next week pretty much belongs to quantumduck, as he'll be leaving shortly, and we haven't gotten to see him much so far.

If I'm not doing the AP Institute at Rice next week (and I need to call them Friday to see if I got off the waiting list or not), possibly early in the week . . . I'd like to actually try and game next Wednesday evening, if we have enough people.

Let me check with the California crowd about their plans and get back to you.
