Heh. A good reason to get together more often, ne?

Second place: [livejournal.com profile] moontyger, at 17 interests in common

Third place: [livejournal.com profile] quantumduck, at 15 interests in common (although I think that's cheating a bit, since IIRC he copied a couple out of mine at one point)

There's a big clump between 12 and 7 interests. Then another clump at 3.

The meme naturally discriminates against those who don't list many interests, or perhaps more accurately it favors people who have long interest lists. (At least, when those interests aren't all band names.) Even if [livejournal.com profile] bibulb had every interest he listed be a match, he'd still lose to all three of them. The same issue guarantees that the "best friend" relationships need not be reciprocal.

This also highlights an issue I have with LJ: there are people on my friends list who are fellow role-players, but they have it listed differently from me - I think I'd have to list gaming, role play, role playing, role-playing, rpg, rpgs, role playing games, and role-playing games to make sure I had the interest in common with everyone who lists it. There are a couple of other things that are similar (bi, bisexuals, bisexuality, bi-sexuality, etc., for instance). I understand why they just let you type things in, but it might be a good idea to have a standardized list for common interests, so we don't miss each other.

I didn't know it was cheating!

I'll stop being interested in those things until you're done with them. ;-)

No, no, silly. Cheating on my part, not yours (I slipped you a cheat sheet when you weren't looking)!
